LEWISTON – Ronald L. Bissonnette, a shareholder of the law firm of Isaacson & Raymond, P.A., 75 Park St., will be a featured speaker at a professional seminar on “Resolving Title Defects,” sponsored by the National Business Institute on Dec. 11. The lecture will take place at the Holiday Inn-West in Portland.

He will address means of curing title defects using affidavits, recitations, quiet title actions, monetary settlements, escrow agreements and party wall agreements, and ethical considerations including formation of the attorney-client relationship, conflicts of interest, duties of competence and diligence, and special responsibilities to sellers, borrowers and lenders.

Bissonnette concentrates his law practice on real estate, business, corporations, commercial transactions and Section 1031 like-kind exchanges.

He is an active member of the Real Estate Section and Title Standards Subcommittee of the Maine State Bar Association, serving as vice chairman (1999-2000), chairman of the subcommittee (2001-2002), and chairman of the Section (2003-2004). He frequently teaches at real estate seminars for lawyers and others sponsored by the Maine State Bar Association and the National Business Institute. He lives in Lewiston with his wife.
