GORHAM – Junior gaurd Andy Tracy collected a loose ball and sank a jumper with five seconds remaining in regulation to lift the University of Southern Maine to a 61-59 victory over the University of Maine at Farmington in men’s basketball action Monday evening.
The Beavers (2-3) outscored the Huskies (2-6) by a margin of 9-2 over a span of 1:37, including six free throws and a game-tying 3-pointer from senior forward Ted Neil with 18 seconds on the clock. But, Tracy cemented the win with his field goal.
Tracy finished the game with a double-double, scoring 14 pionts and grabbing a career high 12 rebounds. Freshman forward Sean Bergeron led all scorers with 17 points.
Sophomore forward Eric Taylor led Farmington with 15 points and nine rebounds off the bench.
