Lisbon High School art teacher, Elaine Cyr, recently visited the Harvard Club of Boston to receive a well-deserved award. She was one of four recipients of the 2008 Prize Book Teacher Award, and was honored on October 1, of this year.

Ms. Cyr and Lisbon High Principal, Kenneth Healey, attended a breakfast and recognition ceremony, where according to Mr. Healey “excellence in teaching and exceptional contributions to secondary education and the future of children” was being celebrated. In reflection, Ms. Cyr offers, “Many other teachers could have gotten this award. There are so many good teachers out there, I feel pretty humble.”

Though Ms. Cry won’t be heard bragging about this wonderful accomplishment, she more than deserved to receive this prestigious award. Her dedication to her students and her passion for art make her an outstanding candidate for such an honor.
