AUGUSTA (AP) – A Superior Court judge is giving jurors and litigants in John Okie’s double-murder trial a day’s breather.
After two days of opening statements and testimony, Kennebec County Superior Court Justice Joseph Jabar called off testimony for Thursday after deciding the case was ahead of schedule.
The 22-year-old Okie is accused of killing his father, John S. Okie, during a heated argument in July 2007. He’s also accused of killing a former high school girlfriend six days earlier in her Wayne home.
