LIVERMORE FALLS – Junior guard Tyler Chiasson drained a game-high 16 points to lead Dirigo to a 55-39 victory over Livermore Falls in MVC boys’ basketball action Friday evening.

The Andies (0-3) battled fierce through the first two and half quarters. But, a 27-27 tie midway through the third quarter was all the steam they could muster as the Cougars (3-0) began to pull ahead. Nic Crutchfield and Tom Knight contributed 12 points apiece for Dirigo.

Junior forward Derek Castonguay notched a double-double for Livermore Falls with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while junior guard Chandler White recorded a team-high 12 points in the losing effort.

Girls’ game

Sophomore center Marissa Welch notched a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead Livermore Falls to a 48-39 victory over Dirigo in MVC girls’ basketball action Friday evening.

The Andies (2-1) played strong and angressive on defense, taking a two-point lead at the half, 24-22.

Junior guard Jane Hebert was a power-house for the Cougars (2-1), making six field goals, including two from 3-point range. She recorded 16 of Dirigo’s 39 points in the losing effort.
