TURNER – Freshman forward Jordan Hersom notched a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead Leavitt to their first win of the season with a 58-55 triumph over Mt. Ararat in KVAC boys’ basektball action Tuesday.

With 30 seconds remaining in regulation, Kolin Gauthier nailed a 3-pointer and was fouled. Zack Caldwell then drained the go-ahead field goal.

Doug Nash also collected a double-double for the Hornets (1-6) with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Gauthier rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11 points.

Senior forward Cam Vermette scored a team-leading 16 points for the Eagles (4-3), while Mike Donahue and Will Gerencer tossed in 10 points apiece.

Brunswick 35, Lewiston 33

BRUNSWICK – Rashawn Edgerton scored the game-winning field goal as Brunswick slipped past Lewiston 35-33 in KVAC boys’ basketball action Tuesday.

The Dragons (3-4) fired off 20 first-half points to take a six-point lead at the midpoint. Forward Stephen Carter drained a team-high 11 points for Brunswick, while Edgerton tossed in three field goals and two free throws for eight points.

Junior guard Ronnie Turner scored a game-high 15 points for the Blue Devils (1-6) in the losing effort.

Boothbay 65, Lisbon 36

LISBON – Boothbay lit up the nets with 26 points in the first quarter and Zack Vanderlan threw in a game-high 20 points as the undefeated Seahawks (7-0) glided to a 65-36 victory over Lisbon in a boys’ basketball game Tuesday.

The winless Greyhounds (0-7) struggled in the second and third quarters, scoring only 11 points.

For Lisbon, Scott Eck scored the team-high 16 points and hit two 3-pointers.

Camden Hills 56, Oak Hill 29

CAMDEN HILLS – Senior forward Gordon Fischer drained a team-high 10 points in a well balanced attack as unbeaten Camden Hills rolled to a 56-29 victory over Oak Hill in KVAC boys’ basketball action Tuesday.

The Windjammers (7-0) held Oak Hill to one field goal in the first half, a 3-pointer by senior guard Shawn Greenier in the second quarter. Camden Hills scored 24 points in the first quarter and led 35-7 at the half.

Greenier recorded a game-high 13 points for the winless Raiders (0-7).
