NORWAY — Danica Nicole Ferris could hardly wait for 2009, but she somehow did, according to officials at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

“Danica was born right on schedule – her schedule – at 2:35 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2009,” a statement from the hospital said.

Parents Katie Reed and Michael Ferris welcomed their new daughter with the help of Dr. Carolyn Costanzi. Amber Ferris was also at the hospital eager to greet her new sister.

Danica joined the world weighing 8 pounds and 7 ounces and measuring 20 inches long.

Danica is Reed’s first child.

As part of the celebration, Stephens Memorial Hospital presented baby Danica and family with a basket of welcome gifts donated by area businesses.
