TURNER – The theater I class at Leavitt Area High School will perform “I Hate the Mall” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, in the school’s auditorium. Written by Brian Flynn, the play is a comedy revue depicting occurrences common to shopping malls all across the country. The title is a play on words – I hate the mall/I hate them all.
Fifteen students in grades 9-12, many of whom have been in recent area productions, will perform 10 short skits under the direction of Penny Appleby. Some of the scenes involve an arcade, a tanning salon, movie preview screens, a pet store, mall security and a restaurant.
The performance is the culminating activity for this semester’s class.
Tickets, $5, will be available at the door. Advance reservations can be made by calling 225-4115.
