AUBURN – Tiffany Seams poured in a game-high 15 points and Michelle Holmquist added 13 points and eight boards Tuesday as Central Maine Community College blew by Trois-Rivieres of Quebec, 70-48.

Seams, playing in her second game since suffering a knee injury on Nov. 13, hit three from behind the arc, leading the Mustangs to a 30-27 lead at the break.

Christy McAuliffe also hit double figures for the Mustangs (10-1), coming off the bench for 10 points. Teira Durgin and Katie Martin added seven points apiece. Danielle Hebert dished out a team-high four assists.

Amelie Messicotte led the Diablos with 12 points.

Bowdoin 78, UMF 41

FARMINGTON – Alexa Kaubris scored nine points and made four steals to power Bowdoin past the University of Maine at Farmington, 78-41, in women’s basketball Tuesday.

Sabrina Cote paced Bowdoin (10-2) with 17 points. Ashley Busque led the Beavers with 11 points. Caitlyn Laflin pitched in eight points.

Bates 83, UNE 61

LEWISTON – Val Beckwith scored 19 points and Lauren Yanofsky added 17 points and 10 rebounds Tuesday, boosting Bates to an 83-61 women’s basketball victory over the University of New England at Alumni Gym.

Annie Burns added 10 points and eight assists for the Bobcats (9-3). Burns and Yanofsky combined for four of Bates’ six 3-pointers. UNE (6-5) shot 7-for-31 from 3-point territory.

Kelley Paradie paced the Nor’easters with 16 points.

UNE 81, Bates 77

LEWISTON – Johnnie Jefferson led five University of New England players in double figures with 18 points Tuesday, propelling the Nor’easters over Bates, 81-77, in men’s basketball.

Jaykyri Simpson added 14 points for UNE (9-3). Quentin Thompson chipped in 13, Steve Belmonte 11 and Ryan Knotek 10. Jefferson drained four of UNE’s 10 3-pointers.

Marshall Hatch topped Bates (6-5) with 17 points. Chris Wilson chalked up 15 points an six assists. Brian Ellis contributed 14 points and Alex Gallant 11.

Bowdoin 69, Plymouth State 54

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Senior Kyle Jackson and junior Mark Phillips scored 14 points apiece Tuesday to lead Bowdoin College to a 69-54 victory over Plymouth State in non-conference men’s basketball.

Jackson added a team-high nine rebounds and five assists.

for Bowdoin. Senior Darian Reid-Sturgis added 13 points, classmate Tim Lane chipped in 10, and junior Mike Hauser contributed eight points and nine assists for the Polar Bears (8-3).

Junior Jason O’Keefe finished with a game-high 22 points for the Panthers (4-7).
