PARIS – A woman accused of a Bethel robbery pleaded not guilty in Oxford County Superior Court on Thursday.

Nancy Jean Plante, 30, of Main Street in Bethel, was indicted last month by a county grand jury on a charge of robbery. She is free on a pretrial contract.

Plante is accused of robbing KeyBank Assistant Manager Marjorie Osgood at gunpoint in September. Osgood said a white female disguised with a scarf and ski hat approached her as she was entering the bank in the morning. Osgood said the woman initially demanded $35,000 to $50,000 but left after Osgood used an ATM to withdraw $500 from her personal account.

According to an affidavit by Detective John Hainey of the Maine State Police, Plante later admitted to the robbery during an interview at the Bethel police station.
