BUCKFIELD – Buckfield struggled to get its offense on track and dropped a 37-32 decision to Greenville in a boys’ basketball game Saturday.
The Bucks (5-7) held a narrow 18-14 lead at the half, but were outscored 12-6 and 12-8 over the final two quarters.
Tony DiAngelo was the only player to reach double digits, finishing with 19 points for the Lakers. Kyle Rines led Buckfield with nine points, three assists and steals. Tyler Weymouth added eight points and six rebounds.
Gardiner 38, Oak Hill 25
WALES – Jordan Grant led all scorers with 16 points and Mike Denham added 10 to lead Gardiner in a 38-25 KVAC victory over Oak Hill on Saturday.
Leading by one at the break, the Tigers (9-4) outscored the Raiders (1-12) 17-6 in the third quarter and made five of their last six foul shots to seal the win.
Isaiah Mills paced the Raiders with seven points and six boards while Ben Foss and Shawn Grenier each scored five points.
Lincoln 67, Maranacook 48
READFIELD – Patrick Mullin went off for 11 points in the first quarter, including three from behind the arc and finished with a game-high 22 points as Lincoln ran away with a 67-48 KVAC win over Maranacook on Saturday.
Ben Johnson turned in a stellar performance for the Black Bears (8-5) with 21 points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots. Pat Norwood added six points in the loss.
Ben McLain also hit double figures for the Eagles (7-6) with 17 points.
Mountain Valley 72, Monmouth 40
MONMOUTH – Cameron Kaubris piled up 21 points and Travis Ruff added another 20 as Mountain Valley strolled away with a 72-40 victory over Monmouth in a boys’ basketball game Saturday.
The Falcons (9-2) built 40-20 halftime lead and then went on to hold the Mustangs (1-11) to just six points in the final stanza.
For the Mustangs, Tim Whittemore hit four 3-pointers for a total of 11 points, and Parker Ferland added the team-high 14 points.
