FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) – Authorities say a 3-year-old girl has died after being attacked by her neighbor’s Rottweiler in Fort Worth, Texas.
Police say the 17-year-old dog attacked the toddler Friday after she climbed through a hole in the fence of her backyard and into an enclosure with the animal.
The dog’s owner has turned the pet over to the city and is cooperating with authorities.
The manager of the city’s Animal Care and Control Division tells the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that the animal’s vaccinations were not current, and the dog will likely be euthanized.
