AUBURN – The energetic and funny Mike Prior will headline the Saturday, Jan. 24, comedy show at The Fireside Inn & Suites. Also performing will be Portland favorite Dennis Fogg and Boston’s Matt Shirley.

A school teacher by day, Prior has long been one of the top crowd-pleasing comics on the Boston scene. He brings his animated delivery and smart and sometimes silly material to fundraisers, clubs and theaters, where he has opened for national headlining comedians and for musical acts such as Weird Al Yankovic, Lori Morgan and Randy Travis.

Prior’s humor is often self-deprecating – “If you can’t laugh at yourself, rewrite the punch line,” he says. A regular performer at the annual Boston Comedy Festival, he has been featured on “Comedy Central” and on “MTV.”

Fogg is a family man from Portland who has been doing comedy for about 10 years. He performs at clubs and colleges throughout New England. Shirley works in clubs and theaters on the Boston comedy scene.

The Fireside Inn offers comedy every Saturday night with top headliners from around New England. Showtime is 8 p.m. Tickets are $14 at the door, $12 with a reservation.
