LEWISTON – Musical performers Celeste and Michael Onofrio and bandmate John Rabassa of the Broad Street Trio will perform at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at Little Dan’s BBQ restaurant.

Broad Street Band, a five-piece classic rock dance band, formed an acoustic trio early in 2008. The trio evolved when band members started receiving requests to perform for local restaurant owners who were familiar with the band’s style of music but wanted a less electric sound for their dining patrons’ enjoyment. So the rock band “unplugged” its electrical equipment and downsized to form an acoustic offering of easy listening music with a light edge.

The idea took off and now the three acoustic members enjoy playing as lounge lizards for private parties, corporate gigs, small clubs and restaurants.

Celeste Onofrio provides lead vocals. Michael Onofrio plays acoustic guitar. They are the band’s original members and have been performing together since 2000. Rabassa plays saxophone and acoustic guitar. When the audience wants a performance with a bit more zing, the trio brings in its favorite local bass player, Todd Corey.

Little Dan’s is on Main Street, across from Marden’s.
