BANGOR – Francesca Lally nailed a pair of free throws with six seconds left to ice an Edward Little 45-42 KVAC girls’ basketball victory over Bangor on Friday night.

Kayla Cummings tossed in 12 points and Kristen Prue added 11 for the Red Eddies (12-2).

Meagan Frechette led Bangor (6-8) with 12 points while Hillary Throckmorton added 10.

Monmouth 40, Telstar 38

BETHEL – Senior forward Alyssa Morin netted 13 points to lead Monmouth to a 40-38 triumph over Telstar in MVC girls’ basketball Friday.

The Mustangs (2-12) took a 19-17 halftime lead, and found themselves in a 27-27 dead heat after three quarters. Erika Ducharme pitched in with 11 points for Monmouth.

The Rebels (2-12) failed to take advantage of many foul-shot opportunities in the fourth quarter. Kayla Merrill notched a game-high 16 points for Telstar in the losing effort.

Valley 49, Gould 29

BETHEL – Sophomore point guard Cindy Schultz collected 20 points as Valley cruised to a 49-29 victory over Gould in girls’ basketball Friday.

The Cavaliers executed great outside shooting, and led 32-12 at the half. Jocelyn Laweryson chipped in with 15 points for Valley.

The Huskies were buoyed by junior point guard Michelle Kravetz, who drained seven field goals and a free throw for 15 points.

Oak Hill 54, MCI 28

PITTSFIELD – Sophomore forward Maggie Sabine had a stellar performance with 23 points as Oak Hill coasted to a 54-28 victory over MCI.

The Raiders (9-6) turned up the heat in the first half, taking a 32-12 lead at intermission. Sabine recorded 10 points in the first quarter, and another six in the second. Becca Lehoytay chipped in with 11 points for Oak Hill.

Junior forward Whitney Houston tossed one field goal and six from the charity stripe to notch a team-high eight points for MCI in the losing effort.

Leavitt 56, Mt. Blue 40

FARMINGTON – Freshman Adrianna Newton popped in 16 points to help Leavitt capture a 56-40 triumph over Mt. Blue in a KVAC girls’ basketball game Friday.

Courtney Anderson contributed 14 points and Abbey Randall added 13 to aid the Hornets (7-7).

Sabrina Keach led Mt. Blue (0-14) with 11 points.

Mt. Abram 52, Georges Valley 30

SALEM – Mikayla Burbank popped in 23 points and Kenni Norton netted 10 points while flirting with a triple-double as Mt. Abram defeated Georges Valley 52-30 in girls’ basketball action Friday.

Norton turned in 10 rebounds and nine steals on the Mt. Abram (9-4) side of the ledger.

Holly Ames-Allen led the charge for Georges Valley (5-8) with 10 points.

Carrabec 43, Dirigo 40

NORTH ANSON – Senior captain Megan Murray funneled a game-high 17 points as Carrabec rode off with a 43-40 triumph over Dirigo in MVC girls’ basketball action Friday.

The Cobras (9-4) came out on fire as Megan Murray scored all 11 of Carrabec’s first quarter points and took a 26-13 halftime lead.

Jane Hebert scored a team-high 15 points, while Tricia Turner netted 10 points for the Cougars (10-4) in the losing effort.

F. Hills 53, Buckfield 44

BUCKFIELD – Forest Hills held Buckfield to single-digit scoring for three quarters and made off with a 53-44 victory over the Bucks in a girls’ basketball game Friday night.

Elise Begin led the Forest Hills with 14 points, and Jasimine Worster and Chrystal Allen each added 13.

For the Bucks, Emily Eastman scored 14 points and Sami Jones added nine.

Falmouth 53, St. Dom’s 30

FALMOUTH – Kelsey Graffam’s 12 points led a balanced attack to help Falmouth pull away to a 53-30 victory over St. Dom’s in a WMC girls’ basketball game Friday night.

Haley Jordan chipped in with 11 points for the Yachtsmen (7-6), who led 29-12 at the half and were in control of the scoreboard throughout the game.

The Saints (9-5) were led by Allaina Murphy’s 15 points.

Lawrence 51, Lewiston 35

FAIRFIELD – Kristin Murray compiled 15 points to lead Lawrence to a 51-35 victory over Lewiston in KVAC girls’ basketball action Friday.

The Bulldogs (10-4) ripped away at Lewiston in the fourth quarter on a series of unrelenting free throws for a 16-3 run.

Junior guard Ashlee LaBonte scored a team-high nine points for the Blue Devils (0-14) in the losing effort.

Mountain Valley 54, Boothbay 20

RUMFORD – Vanessa Cayer drained a game-high 14 points and Taylor Smith added 12 as Mountain Valley trounced Boothbay 54-20 in an MVC matchup Friday.

The Falcons (11-3) yielded just two points in the first quarter and led 33-8 at the half. Lauren LePage chipped in with nine points, including a 3-pointer.

Kristin Sibley paced the Seahawks with six points.

Hall-Dale 54, Winthrop 47

WINTHROP – Hall-Dale (9-5) erupted with 15 points in a decisive third quarter and Winthrop (9-4) struggled at the foul line as the Bulldogs ran off with a 54-47 victory in a girls’ basketball game Friday.

The Ramblers went 21-for-37 at the charity stripe and were held to just six points in the third quarter before bouncing back with a 20-point outburst in the final stanza.

For Hall-Dale, Taylor Massey led the way with 15 points. Lindsey Gordon scored 11 points and Nikki Scott added 10 for Winthrop.

Seacoast 36, Hebron 33

KENNEBUNK – Ruth Towne netted 14 points and Amberle Bennett added 11 to help Seacoast Christian garner a 36-33 win over Hebron in girls’ basketball action.

Emma Leavitt scored 10 points while Kaitlyn Paiton added nine for Hebron (2-10).
