Peru – Ada D. Vaughn, 98, of Peru, died at her residence on Jan. 23.

She was born in Hartford, on Nov. 10, 1910, the daughter of the late Percy and Nellie (Thurlow) Gammon and was educated in Hartford Center schools.

Ada married Eldon G. Dolloff on Dec. 25, 1926, and he died in 1941. She married Archie Vaughn on Dec. 15, 1945, and he died in 1979.

Ada loved to cook and clean house and was especially happy gardening for flowers and vegetables.

She is survived by two sons, Richard Dolloff and his wife, Patricia, and Robert Dolloff and his wife, Shirley, all of Peru; one daughter, Rita Nussbaumer and her husband, John, of Deltona Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Marshall Gammon of Hartford and Roger Gammon of Sumner; one sister, Dorothy Hiscock of Livermore; one sister-in-law, Jean Gammon of Hartford; 21 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend thanks to the Elsemore and Dixfield Clinic for the care and compassion given Ada during her illness.
