Church events
PARIS – Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road, Paris, invites all children to Sunday School at 9 a.m. Feb. 1, the fourth Sunday after the Epiphany. All adults are invited to “Making the Old Story Our Story” at the same time. Worship service starts at 10:15 a.m., followed by fellowship, coffee and refreshments.
Saturday supper
CASCO – The Casco Village Church United Church of Christ, Route 121, Casco Village, will hold a “Let it Snow!” traditional Maine Saturday night supper from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31. There will be beans, franks, casseroles, salads and homemade pies.
The price is $7 for adults and $4 for children under 12 and includes rolls and beverages. It is being sponsored by the Starburst High School Youth Group.
Pre-K club
OTISFIELD – Otisfield Community School will offer a Pre-K Club for 4-year-olds and their parents.
The goal of the club is to have children become familiar with the school while being exposed to some basic literacy skills. The club will have three one-hour meetings.
Children will hear a story, do an activity and receive free materials to practice with at home. Parents will learn about reading and writing with their child. Siblings should be left at home due to space.
The first meeting will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 4. Call 627-4208 or stop by the elementary school to sign up. Limited space is available.
Bridge play
NORWAY – Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Jan. 23 in the Fare Share Building, Main Street, when a four-table Howell movement was played.
Finishing first in Flight A were Cynthia and Bill Clifford, also were first in Flight B; second, Kathy and Pete Cummings; third, Carol Curran and Jim Dickens, second in Flight B; third, Flight B, Bev Pelletier and Bev Dolan.
