Auburn – Damien J. Cote, 93, of Washington Street, died Thursday, Jan. 29, at The Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice.

He was born in Lewiston on Aug. 19, 1915, a son of the late Joseph and Marie (Normand) Cote. Damien was educated in local schools and worked in the textile mills in his early years, he was a welder at the shipyard and later worked as a lumberman, he then opened Cote’s Garage and ran that for many years. Then he owned a operated B-Z Bees Cleaning for a short time.

He was a boxer in his younger years and later enjoyed watching it on TV. Damien was a member of Sacred Heart Church and also The Eagles Club. He also enjoyed his two trips a day to Roy’s Hamburger, where he would eat his lunch and supper.

He leaves three daughters, Rita Pinard of Auburn, Pauline Lagasse and her husband, Richard, of Forida and Joan Brown and her husband, Gary, of Lisbon; two sons, Robert Cote of Auburn and Ray Cote and his wife, Linda, of Lewiston; a sister, Carmen Cote of Lewiston; a brother, Larry Cote of Lewiston; 14 grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife. the former Marie Montminy; a sister, Gloria Montminy; and three brothers, Pearly, Roland and Roger Cote.
