Incident report statistics

Between 7 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, and 7 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, the Lewiston Police Department responded to 563 calls for service. Of those calls, 129 were motor vehicle stops.

Accidents: 61

Criminal mischief

A vehicle traveling on Main Street passing Wakefield Street was shot by a paintball gun at 7 p.m. on Jan. 27. The paintball cracked the windshield of the vehicle.

A vehicle parked at 42 Charles St. had three tires slashed overnight between Jan. 22 and Jan. 23.

A vehicle parked at 30 First St. had a tire slashed overnight between Jan. 22 and Jan. 23.

Thefts

A student at Bates College had his iPod stolen from the Ladd Library at 48 Campus Ave. prior to 3 p.m. on Jan. 23.

A resident of 145 Park St. had all of their clothing stolen from a dryer prior to 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 27.

A customer of Del’s at 43 Walnut St. had their purse stolen during the evening of Jan. 27.

MV burglaries

A vehicle parked at 16 Howe St. was burglarized overnight between Jan. 27 and Jan. 28, a Black and Decker booster pack was taken from the back seat.

A vehicle parked at Montello School at 407 East Ave. was burglarized between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Jan. 27. A wallet and cell phone were taken from inside, both pieces of property were later recovered at Hogan Road and Montello Street on the roadside.

A vehicle parked at Hannaford at 692 Sabattus St. was burglarized prior to 9 p.m. on Jan. 25. Groceries were taken from inside.

A vehicle parked at 134 Summit Ave. was burglarized overnight between Jan. 27 and Jan. 28. The rear hatch was smashed to gain entry.

Burglaries

A residence at 2 Darcy Dr. was burglarized around noon on Jan. 23. Neighbors report seeing a young male walk to the rear of the residence and exiting a few minutes later with something in his hand. The only thing taken from inside was a .38 caliber Colt Cobra handgun in a black pancake holster.

Apartments at 98 and 100 Pierce St., as well as 104 Knox St., were burglarized between Jan. 27 and Jan. 28. A suspect has been identified and will be facing charges.

An apartment at 180 Blake St. was burglarized between 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. An Xbox 360, games and a digital camera were taken.

Counterfeiting

A counterfeit $10 bill with serial number GK53040769A was received at Elizabeth Ann’s at 415 Sabattus St. at 11 p.m. on Jan. 26. The suspect was a white male, 5-foot 10-inches, heavy set, driving a full-sized contractor type van with writing on the side and Colorado plates.

Operating after suspension arrests

Darell Sparks, 28, was charged with operating while license suspended at 2:41 a.m. on Jan. 24 at 242 Park St. following a routine traffic stop.

Jeff Pomerleau, 34, was charged with operating after suspension at 9:02 a.m. on Jan. 28 at 794 Sabattus St. following a routine traffic stop.

Operating under the influence arrests

Reginald Garrison, 46, was charged with operating under the influence at 11:55 p.m. on Jan. 24 at 827 Lisbon St. following a routine traffic stop.

Angela Burnham, 26, was charged with operating under the influence at 1:18 a.m. on Jan. 24 at College and Bates streets following a routine traffic stop.

Lewiston police are looking for Anthony Barron, 31. He is wanted on a warrant charging violation of a protection order.

Lewiston police are looking for Roland Gauthier, 49. He is wanted on a warrant charging failure to appear for operating after suspension.

Lewiston police are looking for Otis Sprague, 36. He is wanted on a warrant charging failure to appear for possession of drugs.
