For the life of me, I cannot understand how a state, year after year, comes up short of funds. Recently, it was from double-counting millions from bad computing.
Why isn’t the state auditing all departments to find out where it’s missing, or overspending or disappearing? All state computers need to be checked, with that checking (and the audits) done by outside companies.
And why aren’t those errors published so the general public can see where its money is going?
I believe the Department of Health and Human Services needs a makeover, too. I see too many people, earning the same money, but one gets everything and another gets nothing. I believe it depends on where a person is from, but I may be wrong.
Again, the public should be able to see a chart or rules that show, for instance, how much in food stamps a person qualifies for.
Why should people have to pay more tax again? It isn’t right. The public pays while the state messes up. Isn’t there a limit on the percentage of tax that can be put on a person? Just like the amount of interest the state charges on money owed it.
I could keep going on, but the people who agree have no voice in this state.
