LEWISTON – The Distributors, a fledgling trio of musicians who have performed throughout central Maine for many years, will perform at Lavish Nightclub and Bar from 9 p.m. to midnight Friday, Feb. 6.

Formed last year, the band plays mainly blues-based rock with improvised jams, R&B and pop thrown into the mix.

Making up the group are Dan Johnson, vocals and bass; Jody Demers, drums and percussion; and Ken Goodman, guitars and vocals. In past years, Johnson has played in the bands Graffiti, Ground Zero, Black Rain and Broad Street Band. Today, he also performs with Christian rockers Cornerstone and the L-A Harley Band.

Son of area drumming mainstay Dick Demers, Jody Demers has performed with Johnson for more than 15 years, making for a rock-solid rhythm section in The Distributors that sounds mature for a “new” band. He, too, has played in the bands Graffiti, Ground Zero, Black Rain and Broad Street Band.

Goodman was a founding member of Hazzyrd and Dirty McCurdy, and also performed with Victim and Disposable Heroes.

Lavish is at 34 Court St., formerly No Tomatoes and The Midnight Blues Club. There is no cover charge.
