LIVERMORE FALLS – More than 30 firefighters from here, Jay and Livermore responded to a fire Wednesday night that tore through a mobile home at 232 Fayette Road. The resident, Scott Young, wasn’t home.

The trailer was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, Livermore Falls Fire Capt. Ron Leclerc said Thursday.

The fire started in the kitchen area and spread. The cause is undetermined, he said.

Fire Chief Marvin Parker said Young left the home shortly before the fire started to visit a friend. Young told firefighters that some electric heaters were plugged in when he left the residence, Parker said.

He had no insurance, he said.

American Red Cross representatives were expected to meet with Young on Thursday.

The trailer and everything in it were destroyed, Parker said.

Firefighters put the fire out quickly and were able to return to the station 2 hours later.

“They did an excellent job, knocking it down, putting it out and doing overhaul,” Parker said.
