RUMFORD – A fire that started in the bark bin of the biomass building at NewPage Corp. on Friday afternoon was extinguished by mill employees within a few minutes, mill spokesman Tony Lyons said.
Local firefighters were not called to the scene. Lyons did not know the cause but said fires flare up occasionally in the biomass building. No one was injured.
