LEWISTON – Anita Royer, 85, of Paul Street, Auburn, died Sunday, Feb. 8, at Central Maine Medical Center after a brief illness.

She was born in Waterville, on May 31, 1923, a daughter of the late Napolean and Josephine (Parent) Grivois. She attended Waterville schools and graduated from Waterville High School. She married the love of her life Sylvio Royer on Aug. 31, 1946, at St. Louis Church. She was a member of St. Louis Parish, where she volunteered as a CCD teacher for 21 years.

She loved to sew and quilt. She also enjoyed flowers and birdwatching. Her biggest enjoyment in life was her grandchildren.

Her life revolved around them. She never passed up a chance to see any of them.

She is survived by her husband, Sylvio; one son, Lee and wife, Denise, of Marshfield, Mass.; one daughter, Shirley Madore and husband, Maurice, of Lewiston; a sister, Theresa Lafrance and husband, Henry; a sister, Pauline Aubut; a sister, Jackie Bussiere and husband, Fern; two brothers, Napoleon Grivois and Leo Grivois; six grandchildren, Chris Madore, Erica Madore of Waltham, Mass., Jillian Begin and husband, Patrick, of Augusta, Ga., Matt Royer and Brad Royer, of Marshfield, Mass., and Jenna Royer of Colorado.

She was predeceased by her mother and father; and sisters, Beatrice, Katherine, Edwina, Annette, Ann and Agnes.
