In past articles I’ve referenced the Love 146 organization that deals in the aftercare of Child Sex Trafficking and Exploitation victims. Most of these victims are children from the ages of 5-18 both boys and girls. These children are usually deceived into believing that they are going to get a job in America that will pay for a better life for them and their families. They usually do not know the language and thus are at an immediate disadvantage. They are abused, beaten and raped into submission under penalty and threats to themselves and their families. It is estimated that the sex industry is the second largest money making industry on the Black Market today and that two kids are sold into slavery every minute. This means that by the time you are finished reading this anywhere from 6-12 kids will have been sold into sex slavery.
“The first thing a child needs after being liberated from sexual slavery is a safe place. Love146 is committed to increasing the number of safehomes worldwide for survivors of child sexual exploitation and trafficking.” (Love 146.org)
This year, on February 13, I will be hosting a FREE movie night fundraiser specifically benefiting the Love 146 organization and the development of their aftercare homes. There is no charge for admission, but there will be opportunities to make a tax deductible donation. In addition, all the concessions sold will benefit Love 146 safehomes.
Come out on February 13, from 7-9:30 p.m. at the Vineyard Christian School Education Center on 9 Foss Rd. and watch the movie “National Treasure 2” and help us raise lots of money for the safehomes and the great work Love146 does. Please invite your friends and family; we would like to see as many people as possible come and support this cause.
