HALLOWELL – The Gaslight Theater will begin its 2009 season with a production of “Bell, Book, and Candle,” a comedy by John Van Druten. In this classic romantic comedy, a modern-day witch likes her upstairs neighbor but despises his fiancee.
In a meeting orchestrated by her equally magical aunt, the witch decides to enchant him to love her instead – only to fall in love with him for real. Since witches cannot fall in love, she must eventually make a choice: the man or her magic.
The show will open Friday, Feb. 20, with additional performances Feb. 21, 22 (matinee), 26, 27 and 28. Reservations may be made by calling (207) 626-2698.
