AUBURN – Dirty McCurdy, which has been playing bars, weddings, parties and special events in Maine for more a decade, will play Saturday, Feb. 21, at Club Texas.

“We’ve put a lot of work into the band in ’08, and it shows in the stage show, the sound, and in the schedule” said guitarist Rich Chaisson, who performs with Scott McCurdy founding member and namesake of Dirty McCurdy; Mike Atkinson, saxophone; Ian Barclay the band’s frontman; Steven Forrest Hamblen, drums; and Tony Look, veteran soundman.

Dirty McCurdy plays Motown, funk and classic rock, and is driven by diverse instrumentation, including saxophone, flute, keyboards and Highland bagpipes. Getting people up and dancing in the band’s No. 1 priority. “We love to play all kinds of music, but we have to see the people dancing and having fun or its no fun for us,” said Hamblen. “And we aim to leave an impression.”

Dirty McCurdy will begin playing at 9:30 p.m. For more information on the band, log on to www.dirtymccurdy.com.
