LEWISTON – As part of the WRBC FM Never-Ending Concert Series, the Icelandic band FM Belfast will play Saturday, Feb. 28, at Bates College.

Bates’ own Battleship and Reggaenomics will open the concert, which is free. The evening will end with a performance by DJ TäNZERMENSCH.

A four-piece electronic band, FM Belfast was one of the surprise breakout artists at last October’s Iceland Airwaves Music Festival, held annually in Reykjavik, Iceland. Its first LP, “How to Make Friends,” was also released in October 2008 in Iceland. It is available for sale in the United States through the iTunes music store.

FM Belfast is considered one of the premier new artists in the rapidly expanding Icelandic music scene. Its music utilizes elements of dance pop and expands on it with profound lyrics and a lighthearted attitude.

The concert will be in Benjamin Mays Center. Doors will open at 9:30 p.m.
