Old-fashioned, horse-drawn sleigh rides will be offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday as part of Winter Fest at Black Mountain of Maine in Rumford Saturday and Sunday, March 7-8. Ernest Garcia and his horses of Gar-Lin Farms in Peru will whoosh passengers over snow-covered terrain, through a wooded trail to a bonfire in the woods, where they can enjoy hot chocolate. The sleigh holds up to eight passengers. Rides are $5 per person; children under 5 and adults over 65 ride free. During Winter Fest Saturday and Sunday, other family activities will include dog sled rides, guided cross country ski tours, sledding, fireworks, outdoor barbecues, tubing, snowshoeing, lift rides and live music.
