Route 140 traffic heads toward Canton on Wednesday afternoon after Canton firefighters extricated trapped driver Paula Fortin, 44, of Dixfield, from her 2004 Toyota Camry. Investigating Maine State Trooper Ron Turnick said on scene that Fortin was driving too fast for the snow-covered road conditions when she lost control in a straightaway known as Canton Flats. The car collided with the snowbank at 1:10 p.m. and flipped over, crushing the roof and preventing Fortin from opening her door, Turnick and Canton fire Assistant Chief Mark Blanchette said. Firefighters cut the door off to free Fortin, who complained of a migraine from striking her head. She was taken by Med-Care Ambulance to Rumford Hospital. The totaled car was removed by M/T Pockets Towing of Dixfield..
