AUGUSTA – The Maine Academy of Country Music will hold a benefit event from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 1, at American Legion Post 205 on Route 17. It is for longtime country music entertainer Brenda Millett who has a serious illness.

Donations to help defray expenses not covered by insurances may be made at the door or mailed to Brenda Millett Benefit, MACM Secretary, 4 Kelly St., Fairfield, Maine 04937.

Among those scheduled to appear are music artist Bob Elston, Slim Andrews, Chris Fyfe, Dan Corbett, Lil’ Butch Howard, The Coyote Drifters, Otto Proctor Jr., Ray Burdzell, Conrad and Merlene Fyfe, Fred Couverette, Jared Alley and Cleo, Eric and Steve Beaulieu, Katahdin Valley Boys, Lori Day, Ginger Mae Dyer, and The Higgins Family: Pard, Lisa, and Katie.
