WINSLOW – The Lewiston Jr. Maineiacs Squirt Tier II travel hockey rolled through the first rounds of the state tournament last weekend at Sukee Arena. The Juniors earned a berth in Sunday’s state final at Androscoggin Bank Colisee.

Lewiston outscored its opponents 26-1, giving up the goal in its fourth and final game. Devin Dumont posted two shutouts, 9-0 over Biddeford and 4-0 over Bangor. Kyle Welsh performed the goaltending duties in a 4-0 victory over Central Maine. Welsh put up another solid effort in a 9-1semifinal rout of Capital District.

Conrad Grimmer registered five goals and an assist in the four games. Luc Dostie added four goals. Noah Buiniskas and Joe Bisson each scored three goals to go with two assists. Kyle Morin, Justin Keaney, Cameron Dionne and Jeromy Rancourt scored two goals apiece, with Morin and Keaney both collecting three assists and Dionne and Rancourt delivering two each.

Roman Dennis provided one goal and two assists. Cooper Richard contributed one goal and one helper, with Ryley Austin also scoring a goal. Dumont tallied an assist. Dumont and Welsh each have posted eight shutouts this season.
