PORTLAND (AP) – The managing editor of Maine’s largest daily newspaper is leaving to become the top editor of the Yakima Herald-Tribune in Washington.

The Portland Press Herald is reporting that Bob Crider will leave the paper on March 20.

He came to the Press Herald and Maine Sunday Telegram in September 2006 from the Yakima, Wash., paper, where he had been managing editor.

Both papers are owned by The Seattle Times Co.
