FARMINGTON – Police continue to search for a third person involved in a home invasion on North Street early Monday morning when a 4-year-old child was taken from his father’s home.

Nicole Lamphere, 27, of Skowhegan, spoke with Farmington police but has not surrendered, said Detective Marc Bowering. Lamphere allegedly pushed Matthew Lawrence’s girlfriend during the incident, according to a court affidavit. Lawrence is the boy’s father.

The toddler’s mother, Jennifer Woodbury, 26, of Madison, and Joseph Magee, 31, of Skowhegan, made their initial appearance in court Wednesday. Neither entered a plea to felony charges of aggravated criminal trespass.

Woodbury was also charged with criminal restraint by a parent.

The boy was returned to his father after Woodbury and Magee were arrested Monday evening in Somerset County.

Lawrence told police he was awoken by someone entering his apartment around 3:30 a.m., then fought with an unknown male, later identified as Magee, when he entered the child’s bedroom and was trying to take him, according to court records.

Lawrence then saw Woodbury and Lamphere in his apartment.

During the confrontation, Lawrence tried to hang onto the child but let go when he felt the child was being hurt as the mother pulled at his arms, the court records stated.

The parents have a verbal agreement dealing with custody of the child. Woodbury had apparently not seen the child since November.

Bail was set at $1,000 cash for Woodbury and Magee. Their next scheduled court appearance is June 19.
