New England Celtic Arts will host Annalivia, one of the latest hip young alt-traditional bands to emerge from the Boston fiddle music scene, Wednesday, March, 25, at Skye Theatre Performing Arts Center in South Carthage; and Thursday, March 26, at the Lakeside Theater in Rangeley. Both concerts begin at 7 p.m., with a 6:15 prejam show at Skye. The acoustic quintet features vocalist Liz Simmons; fiddle champions Brendan Carey Block and Emerald Rae; guitarist/vocalist Flynn Cohen; and bass player/banjo picker Stuart Kenney. Together, their music combines Anglo-Celtic ballad singing and fiddle music traditions with their North American counterparts, Appalachia and Cape Breton, all with a groove-centric contemporary flair. Tickets are $10 at the door. Call Skye at 562-4445 or Lakeside at 864-5000. Skye Theater is at 2 Highland Drive off Winter Hill Road and U.S. Route 2. Lakeside Theater is on Main Street in Rangeley.
