LEWISTON – Tuesday, March 17, the Canadian band Inner City Surfers will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at She Doesn’t Like Guthries. Lead singer and rhythm guitarist Dustin Jones describes the power pop/country band as “NOFX meets Creedence Clearwater Revival.”

Besides Jones, the Surfers are Brad Lacell, vocals, bass; Dave Bahun, vocals, lead guitar; and Michael Hawdon, vocals, drums. The musicians, who live in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, have been together since 1998, “but Brad, Dave and I have known each other since grade school,” Jones said.

Lyrics are written by “whoever brings the song to the table,” he said, and that person “usually writes the lyrics for that specific song, but not always. We collaborate on lyrics at times.”

“If this party is going to be as crazy as I heard it’s going to be, I think you picked the right band to play,” Jones said.

The show starts at 10 p.m.; there is a $5 cover. The restaurant/cafe is at 115 Middle St. For more information, call 376-3344 or visit myspace.com/guthiesplace.
