AUBURN – Mary P. Berube, 96, formerly of 32 Walnut St., Lewiston, passed away on Sunday, March 15, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.

Mary was born in Manchester, N.H. on July 12, 1912, a daughter of the late Narcisse and Corine (Parenteau) Pouliot. She was raised and educated in Litchfield schools before moving to Lewiston in the 1920s. She worked for more than 45 years, to the age of 65, at Bates Manufacturing. She was a lifetime member of SS. Peter and Paul Church in Lewiston.

Mary loved to go out to eat, being driven around to enjoy the beauty of nature, and she never missed a flea market outing. Growing up in rural Maine, her sense for gardening never dwindled and she never lost her love for gardening and planting flowers, even in her later years.

Mary is survived by sons, Roger Berube of California and Ralph Berube Jr. of Maine.; daughters, Sylvia Freeman of Connecticut, and Rachel Holland of Arizona; seven grandchildren, Michael Berube of Maryland., Shelley Berube of California, Donna Aldrich of Maine, Paul Moore of Italy, Jill Brunelle of Connecticut, Warren Moore of Tennessee and Jennifer Berube of California; 14 great-grandchildren, Roger Berube, Rachel Berube, Meagan Berube, Vanessa Robinson, Taylor Robinson and Olivia Robinson, all of California, Joshua Brunelle and Giavanna Brunelle of Connecticut, James Berube and John Berube of Maryland and Erica Moore and Alessia Moore of Italy; and a great-granddaughter, Rylee Berube of California.

Mary was predeceased by her husband of more than 50 years, Ralph Berube Sr.; and great-grandsons Vance Robinson and Brian Moore.
