NORWAY- A fundraising kickoff called “Let the Dough Fly!” will be held Friday, April 3, for the 2009 Norway Arts Festival and Sidewalk Art Show to be held July 11.

Featured will be a homemade meal of pasta, salad, focaccia and dessert.

This year, the festival’s focus will be “Looking Up in Norway: Weathervanes, Cupolas & Steeples.”

Providing music at the fundraiser will be singer-songwriter Katey Branch of Paris. A few local poets will give a preview of the popular festival event Poets on the Porch, now in its seventh year. Local artist Heather Westleigh will offer face-painting for both kids and adults.

The fundraiser will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at Unitarian Universalist Church on Main Street.

Tickets are $10; accompanied children under 10 admitted free. Tickets are available at Books N Things, Norway Memorial Library and L.F. Pike, and will be sold at the door.

If you are interested in participating in the festival put on by the Western Maine Art Group and Norway Downtown, call Lisa Moore at 743-9808.
