AUGUSTA – Residential windmills, solar energy alternatives, green home building instruction, geothermal heat sources and biofuel products will be featured April 9-11 at the Manchester Lions 36th annual home and garden show.

Each year, the event includes hundreds of exhibitors from the home and garden industry such as home building, remodeling, decorating, landscaping, lighting, flooring and heating.

As an added attraction, the first-ever Going Green Symposium will run throughout the three-day event at the Augusta Civic Center.

Open to the public and included with admission to the show, the Going Green Symposium” will present a continuous schedule of expert guest speakers, green exhibits and hands-on demonstrations. Participants such as the Shelter Institute of Woolwich, a world-renowned leader in the home building industry, will offer seminars and demonstrations beginning Thursday evening, and continuing all day Friday and Saturday. In recognition of the religious holiday, the show will not be open Easter Sunday, April 12.

The home and garden show benefits the Manchester Lions Club and proceeds will be used in support of community needs and services. For more information, call Jim Crawford at 729-1636 or visit www.lionshomeandgardenshow.org.
