LEWISTON – Central Maine Medical Center is the only hospital in Maine, and one of only five hospitals in New England, to earn HealthGrades 5-Star rating for carotid surgery excellence.

This year’s rating marks the second consecutive year that the CMMC’s Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute has been recognized with the highest possible score, which indicates, among other things, a very low incidence of major complications.

Central Maine Vascular Associates, a physician practice that provides services at CMHVI, is comprised of Allan M. Ingraham, M.D., medical director of vascular services, and Pamela R. Rietschel, M.D.
