HEBRON – A Hebron man was found dead outside his house early Saturday and Maine State Police are investigating.

Police received a 911 call and responded to 15 Birch Way at about 1 a.m. Saturday. There they found Gene Reynolds, 43, dead in his yard.

Reynolds’ live-in girlfriend, Diane Tracy, 42, made the call, said Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.

“Obviously, she will be one of many people that we will interview or attempt to interview as we attempt to learn as much as possible about what went on inside that home early this morning,” McCausland said.

He said a team of detectives was gathering evidence inside and outside the house and would continue to work at the scene throughout Saturday night and may return Sunday.

“It’s a death under investigation,” he said, declining to elaborate.

Reynolds’ body was taken to the state medical examiner’s office; an autopsy was scheduled for Sunday.
