Distribution day
AUBURN – Auburn AC Serve, a part of Serve New England’s food and volunteer program, will hold distribution day from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Auburn Advent Christian Church, 263 Turner St., at the Whitney Street entrance.

Talent contest
POLAND – A talent contest will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Excelsior Grange, Harris Hill Road. A variety of acts will include singing, dancing, instrumental and gymnastics. Four cash prizes will be awarded by the judges and one cash prize chosen by the audience. All are invited to support local talent. Admission is $2 for adults and free for children under 12.
Eat for ASPCA
LEWISTON – Governor’s Restaurant, 1185 Lisbon St., will have an Eat for the ASPCA Day, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, April 27, to celebrate Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month. Ten percent of the total sales for the day will be donated to the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society.
People may also bring donations into the restaurant during the month of April of animal food, toys, blankets, bleach, cleaning supplies or office supplies, and will be entered in a drawing to win a $25 Governor’s Restaurant gift certificate.
Pine Grove meet
POLAND – The annual meeting of the directors and officers of the Pine Grove Cemetery Corp. of Poland, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 3, at the Poland Historical Society. All lot owners and members are encouraged to attend.
Fresh air
LEWISTON – Residents in and around the Lewiston-Auburn area can help light up the face of a Fresh Air child this summer by hosting through the Fresh Air Fund.
By welcoming visitors into their homes during the summer, host families give Fresh Air children an opportunity to escape city streets. First-time Fresh Air children are between age 6 and 12 and may continue with the fund through age 18.
