FARMINGTON – The Farmington Recreaion Department is taking registrations for Farmington area students in grades 4-6 who want to take part in the Introduction to Lacrosse Program.

The deadline for registering is Monday, April 27 at 5:30 p.m.

This entry-level, non-contact lacrosse opportunity will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Hippach Little League field, beginning Monday, April 27. The program continues until Wednesday, May 27.

Participants will be taught the rules of lacrosse and technical drills, such as catching, throwing and scooping up ground balls, with an opportunity to apply those skills during scrimmages. Sticks, gloves and helmets will be provided. Any additional personal protective equipment is the responsibility of the participant. Insurance coverage for players, if desired, is also the responsibility of the participant.

The program is limited to the first 18 youngsters who register.

The program director is Zac Conlogue, a senior at Mt. Blue, who has played lacrosse at the varsity level for the past four years.

The registration fee is $20 and should be paid by check to Zac Conlogue. There is a $5 non-resident fee charged to participants who do not reside in the town of Farmington or whose parents do not pay property taxes in Farmington.
