NEW YORK (AP) – A 13-year-old boy is in critical condition and two other victims are in stable condition after a gunman fired wildly at a barbecue in Harlem.

The teen, Christopher Owen, was among more than 300 people attending the barbecue when shots rang out at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

The boy was shot in the head and was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in critical condition.

A 26-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were each shot in the leg and were in stable condition at Harlem Hospital.

Relatives of the 13-year-old say he is a talented student and they are hoping for a miracle.

Police are investigating.
