AUGUSTA (AP) – Energy officials say the average price for heating oil now stands at $2.10 a gallon in Maine, up 3 cents a gallon since the state’s last oil price survey in March.
The Maine Office of Energy Independence and Security said Monday that southwestern Maine had the lowest average price at $1.95 a gallon. Northern Maine had the highest price at $2.28.
A year ago, heating oil was closing in on $4 a gallon.
Kerosene was selling for $2.54 a gallon on average, up a penny from March 16.
