Les Dyer of Strong waits Monday in the lobby of the Jay Community Building for another person to buy a raffle ticket to help raise money to buy a wireless sound system for student performances in Jay schools. Dyer was raffling off an oil painting by Elizabeth Reed of Jay. Dyer and his ex-wife, Carey Kennedy, have a sixth-grade son, Alex Kennedy of Jay, who performs in the shows. There are other fundraisers that will be going on, Dyer said. They have already raised $1,114, including donations toward the $1,600 system. Anyone interested in buying a ticket or donating may call Dyer at 860-6301 or Patty Schoen at 897-4319.
