LIVERMORE FALLS – Josh Tainter and Kyle Stebbins each hit two-run home runs to power unbeaten Livermore Falls to a 13-6 victory over Winthrop in MVC baseball action Monday.

The Ramblers (3-1) took a 4-0 lead in the second, but the Andies chipped away with one in the second before taking command with six runs in the third inning. Back-to-back doubles by Ryan Jackson and Stebbins began a string of four consecutive hits that launched the outburst.

Stebbins, Chandler White and Caleb Baron had two hits apiece for Livermore Falls (5-0). Riley Cobb had three hits to lead Winthrop, while Easton Morang added a pair of singles.

Derek Castonguay went the distance for the win. Leavitt 3, Mt. Ararat 1

TURNER – Kolby Youland started a solid pitching game and Jordan Seely came in to finish strong as Leavitt topped Mt. Ararat 3-1 in a baseball contest held Monday.

Steven Rouillard had an RBI double for the Hornets (1-5), while Drake McKreairty scored a pair of runs. Doug Nash had two base hits for the win.

Camden Hills 5, Oak Hill 2

CAMDEN – Greg Dafour paved the way with a two-run double and an RBI single as Camden Hills beat Oak Hill 5-2 in a KVAC baseball matchup.

Nate Jillson smacked a home run and had two singles for Oak Hill, while Zach Linnette finished the day with two singles.

Messalonskee 3, Mt. Blue 2

OAKLAND – Mike Bouchard blasted out a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh to the tie the contest before Joe Dumont followed with game-winning home run as Messalonskee edged Mt. Blue 3-2.

In the top of the seventh, Shane Smith smacked a two-run double to give the Cougars the 2-0 advantage before Messalonskee countered with their explosive homers by Bouchard and Dumont.

Bouchard and Brad Dority of Mt. Blue each had impressive pitching performances, keeping each team’s batters off-balance throughout the contest.

Lisbon 9, Monmouth 1

LISBON – Mat Hardison went 2-for-4 and roped a triple to lead Lisbon to a 9-1 rout over Monmouth.

The Greyhounds (3-1) led by only one after three innings, but scored three runs in the fourth frame. Chris Whitney went 1-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for Lisbon.

The Mustangs (1-3) struggled to score until the final inning. Matt Tozier connected for a double and an RBI for Monmouth in the losing effort.

Lewiston 9, Morse 2

LEWISTON – Lewiston scored three runs in the first, survived a brief flurry by Morse before putting the game away with two more three-run innings in a 9-2 victory.

The Blue Devils (3-3) took advantage of five Morse errors, including three in the decisive three-run fifth when they immediately answered Morse’s two runs in the top of the inning.

Lewiston leadoff hitter Jeff Keene opened the first with a triple and scored on a passed ball to set the tone of the game. Ben Wigant had a key two-out RBI single in Lewiston’s fifth. Mekae Hyde added a pair of doubles.

Alex Wong fired a four-hitter, striking out six and walking no one to improve to 2-0.

Mtn. Valley 7, Madison 0

MADISON – Senior third baseman Justin Staires launched a three-run home run in the sixth inning as Mountain Valley blanked Madison 7-0 in MVC baseball action Monday afternoon.

The Falcons (4-0) manufactured all of their damage in the second and sixth innings, tallying three in the second and four in the sixth. Senior center fielder Garrett McPherson contributed three hits and two RBIs.

Matt Laubauskas went five innings on the mound for Mountain Valley to notch his first victory of the season with eight strikeouts and no walks.

Ezra Gourley took the loss on the mound for the Bulldogs (0-5).

St. Dom’s 5, Traip 2

KITTERY – Sophomore right fielder Kurt Johnson smacked a two-run double in the fifth inning to open up the game as St. Dom’s went on to take a 5-2 victory over Traip in WMC baseball action Monday.

Senior center fielder Richard Paradis got things started in the first inning for the Saints (4-0) with a solo home run. Senior pitcher Greg LaBonte earned the victory, while contributing a pair of hits, including a double for St. Dom’s.

The Rangers (2-1) stayed within striking distance over the first two innings, having scored a run in each frame to trail by one at the end of two. Pitcher Eric Spear produced a double on offense despite taking the mound loss for Traip.

Mt. Abram 11, Boothbay 5

BOOTHBAY – Mt. Abram exploded in the top of the eighth inning with six runs to break a 5-5 tie and beat Boothbay 11-5.

Josh Smith hit a two-run double for the Roadrunners (2-3) in their come-from-behind win, while Mike Bonney had two singles, and three RBIs. Greg Dexter, Hank Poulin, and Mark Wall assisted with two singles each.

Taylor Timberlake blasted out a two-run home run for Boothbay (0-3).

Dirigo 4, Wiscasset 2

DIXFIELD – James Moulton knocked in the eventual game-winning run on a sacrifice fly as Dirigo tripped up Wiscasset 4-2 in baseball action.

The Cougars (3-2) collected a single run in each of the first three innings, and Eric Bolduc provided an insurance run in the sixth frame by plating Arik Fenstermacher. Junior Ryan Lefleur earned his second pitching victory of the season for Dirigo.

Redskins pitcher, John Hopkins, was the only repeat hitter for Wiscasset (2-2) in the losing effort.
