FARMINGTON – A problem with a water pipe shut down Mt. Blue High School for the day Thursday.

The pipe, which supplies the school with water, has been fixed and the school will reopen for classes Friday, David Leavitt, SAD 9’s director of facilities said.

The pipe, which helps fill the school’s wells, came apart and water was being pumped onto the ground, Leavitt explained.

School officials first noticed the problem when a few days ago short periods of water outage lead to no water at all.

Since the pipe was repaired, the school’s wells have recovered and are full, Leavitt said. The school’s water was also tested and is safe, he said.
