HADLEY, Mass. – Bates College men’s tennis players Ben Stein and Amrit Rupasinghe both earned two All-NESCAC honors for the second straight year.

Stein and Rupasinghe repeated as an All-NESCAC doubles team, moving from Second Team last year to First Team this year.

Rupasinghe repeated as a single players on the All-NESCAC Second Team, while Stein was named to the First Team as a singles player, after being named to the Second Team in singles in both 2007 and 2008.

Baseball

ECSU 14, USM 6

GORHAM – Senior left-hander Shawn Gilblair allowed two runs over seven stellar innings and drove in four runs at the plate to lead the Eastern Connecticut State University to a 14-6 win over the University of Southern Maine in baseball action Friday afternoon.

Gilblair was strong on the mound for the Warriors (34-6), scattering seven hits over seven innings while yielding just one walk. The Warriors broke the game open in the second inning with a five run rally to take a 6-1 lead.

Senior outfielder Ryan Pike had two hits for the Huskies (35-6), including a solo home run.
