LEWISTON – The Rev. Doug and Sonia Taylor, directors of The Jesus Party, will hold an evening of film and community dialogue to explore the topic of federal hate crime legislation from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, at their ministry headquarters, 291 Bates St.

The ministry will show a 45-minute film titled “Hate Crimes Laws, Censoring the Church and Silencing Christians.” Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, suggests that such laws trample free speech, lead to arrests and will censor Christians.
